Alone, but not Lonely

What does it mean to be alone

What does it mean to be crowded

Is the essence of others needed, or is our soul enough for one

Perhaps a mixture of both,

but what is the receipe?

A cup of get-togethers

Ten dashes of lone walks

Five spoonfuls of quiet conversations

Three ounces of reading

A container of mediation

Fifty dollops of dancing in the shower

A handful of weddings

Twenty jugfuls of cuddling

How much quiet is too much quiet?

How much noise is too much noise?

Is there a perfect sound?, or are we jumping from debicle to debacle

Is it the whisper of a breezy beach yoga morning

Or the roar of cars down a highway

The quiet of an empty house

or the bass of a rave concert

The singing of the church choir

Or the huffs and sighs from your pet

The laughter of a game night

The sqeals of an excited child

How can you be alone?

How can you be surrounded?

How can your embrace it all, and release the feelings it brings
