Self-Confidence

I had a great childhood

I was a weird loud happy kid who felt very comfortable in her skin because I didn't know there was anything otherwise.

I said whatever I wanted to say and did whatever I wanted to do. Life was great!

Then my family moved to another country...

The novelty of moving was great, but it was the first time in my life that I realized that my view of myself may not be how others viewed me

And I spiraled...

It was a hard crash

I struggled to make friends,

I struggled to get good grades,

I struggled to be physically active.

I stayed that way for two years...

And then I had a wake-up call

My family was moving again, and it caused me to reflect on the past two years

There were a lot of lessons learned, but I want to speak to just one today.

Looking at my life, I realized I had let what I thought others thought of me dictate who I was and what I did...and it had led me to become a shell of myself.

I made many decisions and changes that third year, but one stood out

I would not let what I thought others thought of me define who I am

Years down the line, I would not say I have mastered that and I am now the queen of self-image✨️, but I would say each year has been better than the last :)

For any out there struggling with self-image and self-confidence, I present a stepping stone on that path.

You've got to convince your brain, that most people think the world of you. It's next to the stepping stone of not caring what others think about you at all

But one step at a time

It doesn't really matter what people think of you... It only matters what you think others think of you.

The battle isn't between you and others,

It's between you and your brain

You know your brain best.

Find a way to convince your brain that

✨️Others think the world of you✨️

✨️You are amazing✨️

✨️You can do anything you want if you put your mind to it✨️

Some people like to use affirmations.

Some like to point to tangible events.

You do what fits you best

And you'll be one step closer to self-confidence✨️
